financial accounting

The financial accounting qualification is designed to provide graduates with the knowledge and practical skills in bookkeeping, financial accounting, income tax financial management, reporting standards, corporate strategy, management accounting and research. The qualification comprises of 12 subjects that builds on each other. A student will be able to achieve their associated NQF qualifications at each of the levels on successful completion. The knowledge you gain in each successive qualification builds on the last, allowing you to take on key functions and increased responsibility in your workplace.

Purpose of the Qualification:

This qualification is intended to equip with you with knowledge and practical skills in bookkeeping. The qualification will provide you with the knowledge and skills required not only to perform your accounting job efficiently, but also to proceed on a path of life-long learning with Qualifications at a higher level.

Course Structure:

  • Bookkeeping to Trial Balance
  • Payroll and Monthly SARS Returns
  • Computerised Bookkeeping
  • Business Literacy

  • NQF Level 02/Grade 10

Purpose of the Qualification:

The qualification is designed to provide with one with the opportunity to acquire knowledge, understanding, skills and experience to become a Bookkeeper to Financial Statements. This will assist them in the development and enhancement of employment prospects of the learner, as well as social transformation through the formal acknowledgement of competencies, skills and knowledge.

Purpose of the Qualification:

This qualification is designed to equip the one with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to be appointed as Financial Accounting Technicians who have an important role to play, either as support staff to the Accountant, where they provide Accounting and Financial Management support in the field of Accounting and Financial Management.

  • Income Tax Returns
  • Business Law and Accounting Control

  • National Certificate Bookkeeping which consists of the previous 4 subjects

Purpose of the Qualification:

This qualification intends to prepare one to work in the Financial Accounting field and develop a specialist accounting and management career, either within South Africa or in other countries around the world. The qualification will equip you with the necessary knowledge, skills and insights to operate at a second or third level in Financial Accounting in a large organisation or assume full responsibility for the function in a smaller organisation.
